Smart Start, Early Childhood Learning Center has been owned and
operated by Cheryl M. Mariano, M.Ed. for the past 15 years. She has
been an Early Childhood and Special Educator for over 25 years and
mother of 5 children, ages, 15, 14, 11 and twins, who are 9. As the
lead educator, Cheryl uses her years of experience from private and
public education systems to connect with children and expand their
overall development. Smart Start’s small group setting allows
each and every child the opportunity to successfully participate
and receive essential guidance throughout each day. Additionally,
Cheryl continues to enhance her professional development in order
to meet the changing needs and abilities of each student. She
strives to create a culture among her with similar skills and
philosophies and works closely with each colleague in order to
accomplish the most comprehensive program.
Our goal is to provide a safe, nurturing, educational and enjoyable atmosphere for every child. We provide activities and instructional lessons, which foster self-esteem, self-help skills, socialization, fine and gross motor abilities, language and numerous educational skills. In addition, we believe mindfulness, play, nature, art and music integration along with physical outdoor activity are important aspects of learning for young children and are incorporated daily throughout our program.
